CEO David Booth Donates US 300M
Who is David Booth? Well, David Booth is the Founder and chief executive of Dimensional Fund Advisors. He is 61 years old. Other things about David Booth can be read below:
Family: married to Suzanne, an art preservationist; daughter Erin is a freshman at Georgetown; son Chandler a 5th grader. Brother Mark heads NetJets Europe.
Shelter: Building dream home on wildlife-rich property in Austin, Texas.
Grew up: In Lawrence, Kan., where his dad managed circulation for the Kansas City Star and his mother taught 6th grade.
Recently, it was announced that David Booth has given a $300-million gift to the University of Chicago’s famed business school — the largest ever donation to the university.
The school now will be named for the 61-year-old Booth, a 1971 MBA graduate who has long kept a low profile in the money management business despite his success. David Booth is a generous guy for giving away US300 M. It’s such an admirable deed. I think he doesn’t need a mortgage calculator because he doesn’t have to apply for a mortgage with all his money.
How many David Booths are still out there waiting to be found? It’s not really an easy thing to give away millions of dollars, you know.
